Statoil HQ

Statoil HQ, Aberdeen.

Officially opened in 2016, Statoil House HQ (the Norwegian oil and gas energy company now known as Equinor) in Prime Four Business Park at Kingswell, just west of Aberdeen Sotech worked alongside Charles Henshaw to product over 1600 square metres of rainscreen cladding for the for the HQ.

Covering 60,000 square foot, with room to grow, the new Statoil House has been built to Statoil’s specifications by UK building and civil engineering company Sir Robert McAlpine under a contract with park developers Drum Property Group.

The Sotech Optima FC system was selected for the project due to the precise coordination between panel and substructure that presents a pristine appearance without the use of visible fixings. Optima TFC was also selected as accurate installation is both simple and speedy.

In addition to the traditional systems, Sotech designed bespoke window and cill panels, which were designed to add depth to the façade.

The panels were finished in Alucobond Natural Copper 412.  The Alucobond Natural series is a subtle rapprochement to real metals without its inconvenience creating a refined metallic look.

The building Statoil business serves as the operations centre and head office for Statoil’s development and production activities in the UK and Ireland.
