SUSTAINABILITY

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

AS A COMPANY, SOTECH IS COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY IN ALL ASPECTS OF OUR OPERATIONS. FROM REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT TO PROMOTING RESPONSIBLE SOURCING PRACTICES, SUSTAINABILITY IS AT THE CORE OF EVERYTHING WE DO.

At Sotech, we have set ambitious goals to minimise waste, conserve resources, and mitigate environmental impact; and we continuously strive to exceed these targets. For example, our aim isn’t just to reduce the company’s carbon footprint, but to neutralise it and become part of the sustainability solution.

Our dedication to sustainability therefore extends throughout our supply chain, where we work closely with partners who upload ethical and environmentally friendly practices.

Through transparency (by openly sharing our sustainable metrics, impact assessments), innovation and an investment in sustainable practices (such as the development of our full system EPDs), we aim to be a catalyst for positive change, fostering a more sustainable future for generations to come. Collaborating with suppliers, we uphold sustainability principles and ethical standards by auditing, setting sustainability criteria in procurement contracts, and aiding suppliers in enhancing their sustainability practices.

We continuously enhance our environmental practices by establishing annual goals and objectives communicated to all Sotech personnel. These targets undergo regular monitoring and evaluation. To drive progress and achieve these goals, we’ve adopted and obtained accreditation for an environmental management system compliant with ISO 14001:2004 standards.

We ensure control over outsourced processes, such as management system consultancy and health and safety support, encompassing vendor assessment, product and service validation, and subcontractor oversight.

Peterborough University meets the requirements of an Excellent BREEAM rating.

SPEAK TO AN EXPERT

From our frequent conversations with architects, engineers, and designers, we know this desire for sustainability is felt strongly across the sector. Safety and sustainability are the biggest topics discussed with our expert team, without sacrificing on design aesthetic and functionality.

This is a balancing act for our futures, and with this approach, and the incredible range of rainscreen design solutions available at Sotech, sustainable building design does not have to be a compromise, more an environmentally informed decision.
