Sotech were engaged by Charles Henshaw to produce 2200 square meters of bespoke glazed in traypanels for the new Aker Solutions building on Aberdeen International Business Park (AIBP), which occupies the premier out of town office site in Aberdeen.
Strategically located opposite the entrance to Aberdeen Airport and with fast road links to the Scottish motorway network, AIBP comprises up to 1 million square foot of proposed development within forty acres of a beautifully landscaped business park.
Bespoke Optima glazed in traypanels were used for the project, finished in Licht Bronce FF2. Sotech worked closely with the architect to specify the system as a high flatness tolerance was required for the building. In particular, Sotech was able to advise on the FEA panel size requirements to ensure wind loadings and panel stiffener locations were suitable for the client.
Completed and handed over on time and on budget in February 2015, the project achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC ‘A’ ratings and was completed in just 77 weeks including a complex ‘Category B’ fit-out. The space let to Aker Solutions is believed to be Scotland’s biggest ever single office letting transaction.
