Sotech Optima FC, Secret Fix Rainscreen
Superior manufacturing techniques ensure accuracy of panel sizes and form. Precise coordination between panel and substructure presents the system in pristine appearance without the use of visible fixings.
Regardless of material or thickness used, the superior design and manufacturing techniques employed maintain a cosmetically flat and uniform appearance.
Panels can be fixed to a simple Eco FC Carrier of minimum 38mm depth to create ventilation with a cladding zone as shallow as 90mm.
This drained and ventilated system consists of a baffle-jointed series of panels that creates a weather shield in front of a primary structure.
Optima FC rainscreen cladding has been developed as a carrier and panel system allowing for secret fixing of panels. Its versatility is such that a multitude of materials and thicknesses (from 1.5mm to 4mm) may be used on one universal carrier.
The system has been independently tested and certified to meet CWCT rigorous specification for rainscreen cladding.
Optima FC rainscreen cladding is engineered to seamlessly integrate with all other building façade elements such as windows, doors and louvres.
Sotech worked with Arup Associates, Mace Contracts and Glass Solutions to provide bespoke ACM rainscreen cladding for BskyB’s new Believe in Better Building. The Believe in Better building (or BIBB) required a total of 2500sqm of Optima FC secret fix rainscreen panels in sunrise silver metallic Alucobond ACM, in lengths of up to 5.2 metres, which is well above industry average.
We utilised new manufacturing techniques with our existing machinery to create the longer length ACM panels. A specialised, bespoke carrier rail for the system was developed in order to ensure it worked effectively with the SIPS panels and within an extremely limited cladzone.
Precise coordination between panel and substructure presents the system in pristine appearance without the use of visible fixings.
Its versatility is such that a multitude of materials and thicknesses (from 1.5mm to 4mm) used on one universal carrier.
The substructure carrier rail complete with gasket and locating hooks is fully pre-fabricated prior to going to site. Along with the hands free fixing brackets the system offers a very quick and accurate installation.
A fully independently tested and accredited system to CWCT standards and fully compliant to NHBC requirements.
Aluminium rainscreen with the appearance of patinated copper, zinc look, corten, concrete, timber, stainless steel look.
Superior manufacturing techniques ensure accuracy of panel sizes and form.
Easy installation, refer to installation guide for wall type build up.
Suitable for all types of wall constructions either new build or refurbishment.
A fully adjustable system.
Varying lengths of hands free brackets together with angles and tee profiles allows adjustability in all planes to line and level cladding zones from 110mm above insulation thickness to a maximum of 320mm.
Panels have polyethylene anti rattle clips attached to the back retaining flange, these connect with the hooks on the substructure.
Ventilation zone behind panels often has to exceed CWCT minimum requirements to accommodate structural rails.
Consult Sotech regarding structural restrictions, and constraints relating to panel size, fastener type frequency of fixings.
