Crossrail Canary Wharf

Part of the Crossrail project, designed to revolutionise London’s public transport system by forming a whole new tube line in places that were previously hard to reach, the Crossrail Canary Wharf project was installed by McMullen Facades and includes the Sotech Optima SC4 hook-on system and a bespoke cassette rainscreen system.

The panels were polyester powder coated in a special IGP Dura coating (super durable paint), the finish of which is so smooth, it simulates an anodised rather than painted effect.

Set to be one of the largest new Crossrail stations and based in the North Dock of the West India Quay, Canary Wharf is proposed to be six storeys high, and includes a visually striking semi open-air lattice effect roof that provides remarkable views of the dock.

Work on the Crossrail project is ongoing, and Sotech are also preparing to supply bespoke cladding systems to further builds next year including London Liverpool Street.
