Napoleons Casino, Leeds - Sotech Optima

J57S Anodised Aluminium SHINGLES in Regency Gold 1, 2, and 3 has been used in the refurbishment of Napoleon’s Casino in Leeds.

The architect Chapman Taylor selected the Optima Shingle system to achieve a distinctive aesthetic for this commercial refurb, with the anodised finish of the aluminium providing the longevity and superior weather performance required.

The sleek appearance of anodised aluminium, combined with the architectural detail of recessed features and perforated shingles, creates a unique look for the building.

This project is a prime example of how Sotech’s Optima Shingle system can create a striking and durable façade solution, combining both aesthetics and performance.

Key Challenges and Solutions:

There were two main challenges during this project.

First, the installation required a recessed feature detail, which involved a break in the façade. This can be complex to manage with shingle systems, but Sotech’s technical team offered expertise to ensure the feature was integrated seamlessly.

Secondly, the perforated shingles at the top of the building were uncommon for a shingle system. This was not difficult to manage in the manufacturing process, but did add a unique aesthetic dimension to the project.

Despite these challenges, Sotech’s design and production teams worked closely with the installer, DPS Facades, to ensure smooth delivery to site.
