Fantastic wear it pink day in the Sotech office a few weeks ago. We raised over £300 to support breast cancer research by wearing pink for the day. Team member, Gary Wheatley, even agreed to shave off his precious beard if we raised £90. Seeing as we raised over £300 we contacted East Durham College Master Barber Alison Scattergood to carry out a ‘cut throat shave’!
Every year, wear it pink raises around £2 million during Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.
The money is to fund world-class breast cancer researchers across the UK and Ireland. Together, they’re working to discover how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage so we can stop the disease taking lives.
By funding cutting-edge research, the aim is to ensure no one dies from breast cancer by 2050.
