Sotech were engaged by Elite Cladding Limited to supply 450m2 of PPC aluminium rainscreen cladding for three striking student accommodation buildings in Newcastle, Birmingham and Cardiff.
Finished in PPC RAL: 1028 & 9017 – a bold and eye catching yellow – the 3mm aluminium panels were set on top of structural insulated panels to boost the thermal efficiency of the building. Using the Eco FC carrier rail, the installation process was both quick and cost-effective.
The Optima FC system was chosen because of its versatility – it can accommodate a multitude of materials and thicknesses (from 1.5mm to 4mm) and the precise coordination between the panel and substructure gives a pristine appearance without the use of visible fixings.
Sotech was involved right from the concept stage until the final day on site. The whole process was completed within 6 months, record timing.
The exciting new space for the students includes a study room, cinema/TV room, games room, lounge and canteen/vending area.
