The striking Air Traffic Control (ATC) Centre at Manchester has been clad in Sotech Optima’s FC Secret Fix Rainscreen and anodized in Black 54B.
Precise coordination between panel and substructure has resulted in the pristine appearance of the tower and cab, without the use of visible fixings. The cladding seamlessly integrates with all other building facade elements such as windows and louvres.
The project was valued at £20m and it took one of the tallest cranes in Europe to put the finishing touches to the structure. The new tower stands 60 metres tall, making it the second tallest in the UK after Heathrow and has been designed to provide 360-degree panoramic views around the airport, Greater Manchester and into Cheshire.
