Due for completion in 2017, Aldwych House is an extension project that saw Sotech working together with architects Sheppard Robson and installers Structura.
The design will provide approximately 8,500 sq ft of luxury office and reception space to the already established Aldwych House building.
We provided our Optima FC Secret Fix rainscreen for the futuristic, geometric folded facades; this system was chosen because the panels we supplied are used in the light wells of the building, and are therefore visible to the building’s users, meaning a secret fix was required to give a clean aesthetic appearance.
Our Optima secret fix rainscreen cladding panels work through the use of superior manufacturing techniques to ensure absolute accuracy in the size and form of the panels. Manufacturing with precision between the panels and substructures gives the system a pristine appearance without any visible fixings, making it perfect for projects such as Aldwych House, where budget allows for as flawless a finish as possible.
The secret fix rainscreen cladding panels for this project were manufactured in 3.0mm aluminium with a PPC finish, and included some bespoke bracket weave elements.
Specifying a PPC finish for your rainscreen cladding provides the panels with a hard, resistant finish, with strong abrasion and corrosion properties to ensure longevity. PPC finish also has a range of environmental benefits, being energy and material efficient, and the huge range of textures and colours available with a PPC finish mean it can bring almost any design inspiration to life.
Situated within the Westminster Conservation Area, the £15 million project will use carefully positioned windows to frame views of the London southbank.
Our Optima range of rainscreen cladding systems are suitable for a huge variety of projects; from commercial office space, to residential developments, to new healthcare facilities.
