Fulham Boys’ School - Sotech Optima

1550m2 of 3mm J57S Grade UP Aluminium in Sotech’s Optima FC Hook On System has been used in the renovation of Fulham Boys’ School in London.

Formerly home to Fulham Police Station, the site has been redeveloped to provide a new 800-pupil secondary school and sixth form, a new police front counter was constructed to retain the police presence which reflects its history. Nine residential apartments also share the site.

Sotech’s Optima FC Hook On rainscreen cladding system was selected to provide a secret fix option.

The J57S Grade Up Aluminium finish provides a hard durable coating with superior product warranty, perfect for the location and use of the building.

As you can see in the project photos, two different finishes were used: the main elevation was finished in United Anodisers 54B Black and the window reveals 541 Bronze. As is advisable with anodised goods, Sotech imported the volume of material required in bulk to reduce shade variation.

Fulham Boys’ School opened its doors in February 2021.

New and improved Optima FC+

In 2020, Sotech unveiled a new and improved version of its secret fix rainscreen cladding system, Optima FC+.

Featuring an innovative slide and lock adjustment mechanism, Sotech’s enhanced secret fix hook on rainscreen system now features carrier rail hooks. These hooks can be locked in position on site by installers, rather than in the factory, leading to significantly reduced lead times for all parties.
