Rainscreen Cladding Systems: Safety, Compliance and Best Practice

An industry-focused CPD training providing a structured overview of rainscreen cladding systems, focusing on safety, compliance, performance and sustainability.

Led by Sotech’s expert technical team, our in-depth sessions are tailored for architects, specifiers, and construction professionals seeking to deepen their understanding. Fire safety. Compliance. Testing. Sustainability.

Each in depth training can be delivered face to face or online, via Microsoft Teams.

“Understanding testing standards is not optional. It is fundamental to specifying façades with confidence.”

Harry Tamplin, Architectural Facade Manager

Harry Tamplin is Sotech’s Architectural Facade Manager, bringing nearly a decade of experience in the built environment, including six years specialising in façade specification.

With an MSc in Façade Engineering and a strong technical background in aluminium glazing systems, Harry has supported residential, commercial and public sector projects across the UK. His expertise spans fire safety, system performance, compliance and sustainable specification – combining technical rigour with practical, buildable solutions.

Harry works closely with architects, façade consultants and contractors from the earliest design stages, helping ensure that systems are correctly specified, compliant with current regulations, and aligned with project sustainability goals. He has particular experience supporting teams through the evolving regulatory landscape, including Gateway requirements, and understands the importance of clear data, certification and traceability under the Building Safety Act.

A strong advocate for responsible material selection, Harry is passionate about improving access to Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), increasing recycled content and supporting circular economy principles in façade design.

As Harry explains:

“Clients are asking more questions than ever about carbon, recyclability and lifecycle performance. The more transparent and accessible we can make that information, the better decisions we can help them make.”

Harry’s technical depth, sustainability focus and collaborative approach make him ideally placed to deliver CPD sessions that are practical, current and directly relevant to today’s regulatory and design challenges.

“In a post–Building Safety Act landscape, traceability and technical clarity are essential at every stage of façade design”
