Project Altitude is a 27-storey mixed-use development in Aldgate, East London. Located at a prominent junction, the building includes 235 residential apartments, 675sqm of commercial space and 580sqm of office space.
Sotech worked closely with McMullen Facades, to provide 700sqm of bespoke curved balcony soffits for the landmark skyscraper.
McMullen Facades specified Sotech’s bespoke balcony soffits as a result of our strong working relationship. The unitised panels were assembled off-site which saved time and wastage on site. Our collaboration allowed McMullen to install the balcony soffits at the speed of a floor a week, a truly impressive timescale. This ensured we maintained the programme and our aspect of the project was delivered on time.
Aluminium enables the bespoke balcony soffits to have a uniquely smooth surface, with exceptional load-bearing capacity and flexural strength. Lightweight and durable, aluminium soffits are available in a wide range of colours and effects.
When protected with a protective layer such as an anodised finish or polyester powder coating, aluminium is resistant against all kinds of weather. The untreated material protects itself with its oxide skin, helping to maintain a pristine appearance in skyscraper developments such as Project Altitude.
One of the most striking aspects of the 27-storey tower are the stunning penthouse apartments situated at the top, boasting floor to ceiling windows that open onto a communal roof terrace with magnificent panoramic views of the City of London and Canary Wharf. The tower also offers one, two and three bedroom homes within walking distance of the City of London.
In addition to the landscaped communal roof terrace, the building is situated around a new piazza, with high quality public routes across the site that link to other developments in the area and four nearby underground stations.
The training facility and showroom at Sotech is open to specifiers and contractors, where all of our Optima Rainscreen Systems are on display alongside the widest selection of materials and finishes, including pre and post coat aluminium, ACM, Copper, Zinc, Stainless Steel and Anodised.
