50 - 60 Station Road - Sotech Optima

Sotech has provided 1000 sqm of Optima FC in 4mm ZCM, VMZ Quartz at 50/60 Station Road in Cambridge, now among the largest and most modern offices in the Cambridge.

Zinc, a traditional construction material excelling in durability, malleability and corrosion resistance was selected due to the panel module width requested. Only a Zinc faced composite material would ensure that a consistently flat façade is maintained, meeting CWCT standards in relation to wind load deflection.

The Sotech Optima team used the latest 3D modelling software to ensure that absolute accuracy was maintained during the full manufacturing process. This process also enabled the design team to spot and resolve any potential interface issues before manufacturing commenced.

Comprising of a new high-quality office building arranged over two basements, ground and eight upper floors, the site is situated on the south side of Station Road. The building has excellent views over Cambridge city centre and is a striking addition to the city.
