A Stunning FaCade for a Landmark Development
4100m² of Aluminium PPC (Adapta Vivendi Copper DS0010) in Optima FC+ has been used in the completion of the VITA Coventry student accommodation.
The development consists of two striking towers, 12 and 14 storeys respectively, housing 496 high-quality studios with shared hub spaces and an external courtyard. Designed by Fuse Architects, this project is part of the Friargate Masterplan, a transformative regeneration project in Coventry’s city centre.
A Groundbreaking Finish
The façade’s Vivendi Copper DS0010 finish from Adapta represents a first for the UK. This semi-transparent powder coating showcases the natural beauty of the aluminium substrate while offering a modern, innovative alternative to traditional copper finishes.
As seen in the project photos, the fading sun enhances the façade’s copper hues, creating a warm, dynamic aesthetic that changes throughout the day, highlighting the building’s bold, contemporary design.

The curved panels and pressings, expertly fabricated by the Sotech team, provided a smooth transition from one elevation to the next which was a critical design requirement of the project. The specified paint finish, a groundbreaking first for the UK, demanded close collaboration with our incredibly loyal and dedicated supply chain. Keyclad’s exceptional technical expertise across estimating, pre-contract, design, and installation was instrumental in achieving the outstanding result.”
