Sotech welcomes Architectural Façade Manager

Sotech has strengthened its specification team with the appointment of Harry Tamplin as Architectural Façade Manager.

Harry brings almost a decade of experience in the built environment, including six years in façade specification roles. With a strong technical background in aluminium glazing systems and an MSc in Façade Engineering, he has guided projects across residential, commercial and public sector schemes, combining technical expertise with a passion for sustainability.

Having admired Sotech for a number of years, Harry said the move felt like a natural step:
“I’ve always respected how Sotech balances technical expertise with a genuine commitment to safety and sustainability. The role gives me the chance to build on my experience and contribute to the company’s growth journey.”

In his new role, Harry will focus on strengthening the specification process, working closely with architects, façade consultants and contractors at the earliest design stages. He sees key opportunities in supporting clients through the Gateway process and helping projects meet net zero goals through smart material choices and circular economy principles:

“Clients are asking more questions than ever about carbon, recyclability and lifecycle performance. The more we can do to provide up-to-date Environmental Product Declarations and increase recycled content, the bigger the impact we’ll have. At the same time, with the delays and challenges around Gateway 2 approvals, there’s a real opportunity for manufacturers to help specifiers by making data and certification more accessible. If we can support our customers through this, we can build stronger relationships and deliver better outcomes for everyone.”

Speaking about Harry’s new appointment, long serving Marketing Manager Claire Ryan welcomed Harry to the team, commenting:

“This move comes at a pivotal time in the company’s five-year growth strategy. We have a bold strategy to double the size of the business through innovation, specification sales, and a values-driven culture. Harry will contribute directly to this strategy, strengthening our relationships with architects and suppliers, and helping ensure the right systems are specified early in the design of a new project.”

CEO Jon Symonds added:

“Our five-year growth plan is rooted in people, values and innovation. Harry’s technical expertise, passion for sustainability, and ability to engage with specifiers at the earliest stage of design make him a perfect fit for Sotech.”

Outside of work, Harry enjoys travelling, football, golf and cooking, and describes himself as highly competitive – a trait that has helped him thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving industry.
