Blackfriars

Sotech provide rainscreen for luxury residential development – The Residence – at Blackfriars.

The Residence at Blackfriars, in the heart of South East London, is a new luxury boutique residential project from Linden Homes.

Blackfriars - Alucabond - TFC Rainscreen Cladding

We worked with installers OCL Facades on this development of highly specified 1 and 2 bedroom homes, providing our Optima FC (Secret Fix) and TFC (Through Fix Cassette) rainscreen cladding systems for the build, as well as bespoke fascia panels.

The use of both our FC and TFC rainscreen cladding systems provides flexibility with regards to time and cost; in places where a secret fix is not required, our TFC system can be used as much more economical alternative.

The cladding was manufactured in 4mm Alucobond ACM Silver Metallic 500, giving a fantastic reflective appearance, as well as utilising the benefits of ACM such as its superior flatness, lightweight strength and durability.

Blackfriars

Due to some challenges on this project in terms of programme restraints, Sotech offered design assistance to our customer which involved scheduling panels, rails and brackets from their elevation drawings – this helped to speed up the production process and ensure the project ran smoothly and on time.

The project was completed in September of last year, and gives residents a stunning view of the Shard from its roof terrace, as well as a number of wheelchair accessible apartments to reflect main contractor Linden Homes’ policy of building homes for all in the community.

The Residence on Black Friars Road is set to become an extremely desirable location that is easily accessible from a range of London landmarks, and we’re extremely proud to have worked on it.
